Jewelry Display Trays
Using modular jewelry display trays can be the focal point of your jewelry business. Displaying merchandise is one thing, but true organizing and portability is just as important.
Ease of setup, presentation of, and storing of your jewelry will help you spend more time presenting to your customers, and less time setting up and takedown. Cost is certainly a consideration, though think about convenience and durability as well. Sure, you can purchase inexpensive plastic trays, however, they will certainly not be as useful and not as durable.
The best I can do, is to diagram, of sorts, how I use jewelry trays and other display pieces. I use modular trays because it will allow me to stack them up, and to help keep the jewelry clean, I simply cut strips of silver cloth to fit just inside each tray, over the jewelry. When I’m displaying my collection, I can simply roll the clothe pieces up, or lay them all in one tray.
The trays can be purchased generically, where you insert any number of dividers, or inserts. If you plan properly, you can get the max use out of every tray. If you know in advance, how exactly you need your jewelry organized, you can simply purchase the trays already setup as you need them, with dividers already built-in. This can be more beneficial, as the manual inserts tend to shift a bit. Either way, it allows you to even organize your collection of beaded bracelets in lines, or stud earrings in separate compartments.
For necklaces, you may want to invest in some hooks to hold them in pace. This is great also for all your pendants, and larger jewelry pieces…helps keep them in place. Rather than placing them in a tray alone, use easels to pin, or hook, your necklaces and pendants to. Then, you simply remove each easel from their respective trays and erect.
These easels are the only inserts I would remove from the trays. All other jewelry is presented in the trays. Selecting the right tray will actually help present your jewelry. Quality trays will not get as beat up either, so the presentation will continue to be the same each and every time.
