Glass Showcases
Using glass showcases is a great way to keep the customers attention, present a feeling of professionalism, and secure your jewelry collection. You will find this to be the highlight of your displays.
You can find these showcases in an array of sizes, to help in the planning of your store layout. Choosing the right style for the jewelry you are presenting is important as well. You may require four shelves in the case of presenting many of the same variety, other times, a dual-shelved showcase will work better. It is all about what you are displaying.
Also determine what color you will need for each section, as they traditionally come in black, white, and gray deck colors. check the details of each showcase, as the less expensive units may not have mirrored surfaces, lighting, etc.
When you are planning the layout, make certain to not stagger the cases too far apart or something other than a smooth line that forms a path for your customers to easily browse any selection of jewelry. Though the cases need to be the same height, they don’t necessarily need to be the same style inside. The outside frame and look should be the same, but the colors within can change to the look you are trying to present. Example…interior colors may be different for fine jewelry versus, say body jewelry.
Most of the showcases are made of some sort of metal, with some models made of hardwood. The choice you make in finishing’s should reflect the store theme. Don’t place wood displays in a contemporary-looking store, the mood will not be nice right.
The use of these showcases are almost endless, as you can display every piece of jewelry you have in your collection. I think it is more important to NOT present too many pieces in one single showcase. Again, plan according to your inventory and what you anticipate displaying in the near-future, and make adjustments accordingly.
When browsing the selection of cases available, note what is included and make certain you opt to add the locking system they are offering. Often, the cases will have just basic locking tabs, or no lock at all.
