Children’s Jewelry Boxes
No matter how old you were when receiving your first jewelry box, it will be remembered forever. When it comes time to look for children’s jewelry boxes, there are some considerations.
Should the jewelry box be of a musical variety? As with receiving other gifts, the greatest feeling of the gift is in the moment you open it, right? If you want that kind of feeling to be lasting, consider the musical box for the children. The child will continue to be enchanted for many years with the melody of such a box every time it is opened.
To make the determine of what kind of box, ask yourself…how long will the child play with it? Does it need to be ‘child-proof’? A thought…for the box to be treasured, try not selecting something of a fad; go with a design that can transcend the years.
Box design? Selecting a design may be the greatest obstacle, actually. there are countless boxes made from or for fables, nursery rhythms, and animal characters. Colors can be very vibrant, or as subtle as one finish. The drawers of the box can be of different colors, and inside, the lining could be of dazzling brilliance upon opening the lid. A few of my favorite themes have to be ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from the Nutcracker suite.
Your next consideration may be price. Just remember, that durability and quality are two separate aspects of jewelry boxes, but neither truly reflect the cost of the item. A more expensive musical box may actually be less durable, more delicate, however, the mechanics of the music playing box may last a lifetime.
What is the goal? What would you like the child to do with the box? Is this something you hope they will cherish forever? Be cautious of this, as it may not be that important as the years go by, so make your selection within reason.
