Amazing Jewelry Display Setup

Nothing brings the traffic like a well-advertised, local tradeshow. If you have been around awhile, as a hobbies or professional jeweler, there is a good chance you have participated in or at the very least, attended one of these shows.

What is usually missing is proper setup of the vendor’s jewelry display. You need to ask first…are you displaying your collection in the best environment and presentation?

Often, the answer to that is very evident…no. I’m not certain why people think that just the statement ‘build it and they come’ also means they will buy. That is not true. It is all about your presentation, style, and enthusiasm that makes the sale. Below, I would like to list a few of my tips in setting up an amazing jewelry display.

First, determine how to best present your jewelry. Is it better to have your jewelry in acrylic cases, or on jewelry trees? What color backing and accents look best with your jewelry? Odds are, you will need to address this throughout your collection.

After you have decided on colors, styles, etc., it is time to start shopping. Before making an initial purchase, do some homework, and remember, price is not always your best and first deciding decision. granted, you are within a budget, but try spending more on those pieces that will be in direct contact or closer to the shopper than others.

Properly organize your collections. Do not use all rounded easels; try making some adjustments, though do not change styles within each collection. Go with what your potential customer is.

Don’t group unlike pieces together, unless they are specifically designed to be sold in a specific collection. Keep earrings on cards in one collection, and organize your our jewelry accordingly.

You will only get one chance to make a sale…that was until the advent of the Internet. Do what you can to gain their contact information, preferably their email address. Build a website and start a marketing campaign with discounts, etc., to get your customers to buy again, without having to make a trip to your display.
